Zero Restraint in Nursing Homes: Why and How?
Finding the right balance between resident freedom and safety is a daily challenge for nursing home teams. In the absence of alternatives, physical restraint is often seen as the only response to falls, wandering, or agitation, even though it carries documented risks for both residents and caregivers.
In light of this, Life Plus has co-authored this white paper with the UD2MS, alongside Prof. Claude Jeandel and Dr. François Bertin-Hugault, to provide teams with concrete guidance: understanding the issues, drawing inspiration from field experience, and identifying levers for action.
